It is not necessary to be able to read music for this method, tablature will show you which notes to play. By using this book, and the accompanying DVD video, you will learn the parts of the banjo, how to tune it, how to hold it, and how to read tablature. Once you have mastered these basics, you will be able to play simple tunes after listening to them along with the exercises that are demonstrated on the CD, which is also included.
